Dr N. R. Pathak started an orphanage at his own home in 1947. Till 1969 it was a part of Pathak Hospital Miraj. The Pathak family ran it unaided initially. Also Dr N. R. Pathak started Mahilashram and Nursing Training for women in 1949.
Pathak trust was founded by Dr N.R. Pathak, his eleder brother Mr. B. R. Pathak and his mother Mrs. Seetabai R. Pathak in 1969. The Trust is registered with the Honourable Charity Commisioner Sangli with a registration number E-279.
In 1990 Pathak Vruddhashram was established
Today this trust runs an orphanage and an old age home in Miraj. Miraj is a town in southern part of state of Maharashtra in India.
