30th November is the annual day of Pathak Trust Miraj. It marks the death anniversary of our founder Late Dr. N. R. Pathak , it was 38th Punya tithi of him yesterday. It also marks the 33rd foundation day of the Pathak Vruddhashram.
Floral tribute at Dr N. R. Pathak Statue
The day began with paying homage to our founder at his statue, located near Miraj Market. The statue was garlanded, and respects were paid to the Late Dr. N. R. Pathak. The main dignitary was Mr. Ashok Kolase, who served the trust as its superintendent from 1983 to 2019. The event was attended by many people from different backgrounds, including those from medical, social, political, and media fields.
Blood Donation Camp
The blood donation camp was inaugurated by Prof. Ravindra Phadke (a 120+ times blood donor) and the chief guest was Dr Riyaj Mujawar an eminent cardiologist from Miraj. In total 33 bags of blood were collected at the camp. Dr B. T. Kurane welcomed the donors and Dr Mrs Vaishali Pol from Vasantdada Patil Blood Centre was the medical officer of the camp.
The Annual Function
Dr Vasudeo Deshingkar from Kolhapur presided over the function. Dr Sudhir Rashingkar from Pune was the chief guest and orator. Mr Deepakbaba Shinde of Mhaisal was the guest of honour.
The function began with a welcome song by Mr Shrikant Savant. The guests on the dias garlanded the photographs of Dr N. R. Pathak the founder of the trust and Mr B. R. Pathak the co-founder and the first president of the trust. It was followed by lighting the lamp. As every year, Mr. Satyajeet Pathak also sang an ode to the late Dr N. R. Pathak.
Dr. R. N. Pathak, the president of the trust, welcomed the audience and gave the opening remarks.
Mr. Shrikant Yedurkar introduced the president of the function, and Mr Ashok Tulpule introduced the chief guest. Dr B. T. Kurane the secretary of the trust welcomed the dignitaries on the dias. Dr B. T. Kurane felicitated Dr Sudhir Rashingkar. Mr Deepak Shinde felicitated Dr Vasudeo Rashingkar.
After this, there was felicitation of Mrs. Meena Anant Bedekar and Mrs. Vinaya Deodhar. Mr. Sundar Pathak was also felicitated.
Dr Vasudeo Deshingkar unveiled the annual report. Dr. B. T. Kurane, secretary, presented the annual report of the Trust.
Dr N. R. Pathak Memorial Lecture
Dr Sudhir Rashingkar delivered the “Dr N. R. Pathak Memorial Oration”. He spoke in Marathi on the topic “मला भावलेले आंतरराष्ट्रीय उद्योजक” . Being a biographer of some entrepreneurs and also being the official translator of some of the entrepreneurs’ biographies into Marathi he spoke with authority. He elucidated the good principles he learnt while studying those biographies. He gave examples of Dr Benjamin Carson, Sam Walton, Akio Morita. Among Indians, he cited examples of Shantanurao Kirloskar, Prahlad Chhabria, Mukesh Ambani, and Hanmantrao Gaikwad. He explained the genius of Warren Buffet and Charlie Munger. He summed it up nicely by telling how entrepreneurship is spontaneous and needs a lot of hard work.
After this, Dr Vasudeo Deshingkar gave presidential remarks and also urged to the society to give back to the society. He said it’s not just money, you can donate time, and expertise. He brushed up fond memories of Miraj his hometown when he stayed here.

Vote of thanks
More than a hundred people attended the event. Some of the audience had travelled from other cities and towns. There were doctors, engineers, industrialists, social workers, students and reporters present at the event. Pathak Trust and Pathak family profusely thank them for their show of affection and love for our institute. It gives us a moral boost to continue what we are doing.
